Anti-Wrinkle Injections - Who is it for
WHO IS IT FOR?

The treatment may be suitable for adults who wish to soften:

  • Horizontal forehead lines
  • Frown lines between the eyebrows
  • Crow's feet at the corners of the eyes

It is only carried out after a face-to-face consultation, once your doctor has confirmed that it is suitable for you.

Anti-wrinkle injections place very small amounts into specific facial muscles to gently relax them, temporarily easing the movement that forms expression lines.

Expression lines are created by the repeated contraction of these muscles. By relaxing them, the treatment softens the appearance of lines when you make facial expressions, and helps prevent them from deepening at rest.

The effect is temporary and gradual: muscle activity returns over the following months, which is why treatment is usually repeated a few times a year.

Your Innerskin doctor maps the areas, the injection points and the dose to your facial anatomy, your muscles and the result you are looking for. With conservative dosing, the aim is a natural-looking result that keeps your expressions your own.

What is an anti-wrinkle treatment?
FOREHEAD LINES

Forehead lines are the horizontal lines that appear when you raise your eyebrows. They are caused by the frontalis muscle, which lifts the brows.

Your doctor injects small amounts at several points across the forehead, in balance with the treatment of the frown area, to soften the lines while keeping natural movement of the brows.

FROWN LINES (GLABELLA)

Frown lines are the vertical lines between the eyebrows, often called the “elevens”. They are caused by the muscles that bring the eyebrows together and down when you frown.

This is the most commonly treated area. Your doctor injects precise points between and above the eyebrows to soften these lines and the tired or stern look they can give.

CROW'S FEET

Crow's feet are the fine lines that radiate from the outer corners of the eyes when you smile or squint. They are caused by the orbicularis oculi muscle, which closes the eyes.

Your doctor injects small amounts at the outer corner of each eye, taking care to preserve a natural smile.

Q&A

The treatment is carried out by an Innerskin doctor, registered with the GMC, following a face-to-face consultation.

You will feel brief pinpricks at the injection points. The needles are very fine and the appointment is quick.

The effect starts to appear after 3 to 5 days and reaches its full effect after around 2 weeks.

Usually around 3 to 4 months. Muscle activity then gradually returns, and your doctor can discuss a new treatment with you.

Yes. A review is offered around 2 weeks after your treatment, so your doctor can check the result and make a small adjustment if needed.

The most common are small marks, redness, slight swelling or bruising at the injection points, and sometimes a mild headache. They are temporary.

Less commonly, a temporary heaviness of the forehead, a change in eyebrow position or a drooping eyelid may occur. They usually resolve within a few weeks.

For the first 4 hours, stay upright and avoid touching or massaging the treated areas. Avoid intense exercise, saunas and alcohol for 24 hours. Your doctor will give you written aftercare instructions.

The aim is a natural-looking result. Your doctor adapts the dose and injection points to soften lines while preserving your expressions — conservative dosing is our default.

Yes. It can be part of a broader plan with skin quality treatments or technologies. Your doctor will advise you on the right timing between treatments.
