YOUR TREATMENT IN 3 STEPS

  • MEDICAL CONSULTATION

Your Innerskin doctor assesses your skin, your expectations, your medical history and the area concerned to confirm your needs and select the right product.

  • INJECTIONS

Your doctor injects the product using a technique and protocol adapted to the area and the result you are looking for.

  • FOLLOW-UP

Your doctor explains the aftercare to follow after the session and, where relevant, plans your next sessions.

Polynucleotides - What is it
WHAT ARE POLYNUCLEOTIDE INJECTIONS?

Polynucleotides are highly purified chains of nucleotides used in aesthetic medicine in injectable protocols designed to improve skin quality.

They are being studied in particular for their properties relating to skin hydration and biorevitalisation, and for their interaction with various cellular mechanisms involved in skin quality and structure. After injection, their action develops gradually.

Unlike injectables designed mainly to restore or change volume, polynucleotides are used first and foremost to improve skin quality. The aim is therefore not to change the contours of the face, but to gradually improve the appearance, suppleness, hydration and certain characteristics of the skin.

PN, PDRN: WHAT ARE THEY?

The terms PN (polynucleotides) and PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) refer to preparations derived from nucleotide fragments whose characteristics, chain length, formulation and uses may differ. Not all products are therefore interchangeable. The injectable product is selected by your doctor according to its formulation and the area concerned.

A MULTI-TARGET ACTION

  • BIOREVITALISATION – An approach focused on gradually improving skin quality
  • HYDRATION – Helps the skin feel suppler and better hydrated
  • FIRMNESS – Supports the mechanisms associated with skin structure
  • TEXTURE – Gradually improves the appearance and smoothness of the skin
  • FINE LINES – May help soften certain fine lines linked to skin quality
WHO IS IT FOR?

Polynucleotide injections may be considered when the aim is to improve:

  • Dehydrated skin or skin lacking suppleness
  • A loss of skin quality
  • Certain fine lines
  • Thin or fragile skin
  • Early signs of skin ageing
  • Lack of firmness
  • Certain concerns around the eye area

AREAS

Depending on the product:

  • Face
  • Eye area
  • Neck
  • Décolletage
  • Hands

Polynucleotides are not the answer to every concern. Your medical consultation will determine whether this approach is suitable for your skin and your goal.

Polynucleotides - Who is it for

FAQ

You may feel a pinprick, some tightness or discomfort during the injections.

How it feels varies depending on the area and individual sensitivity. Your doctor can offer suitable measures to improve your comfort where appropriate.

Redness, small bumps, swelling, tenderness or bruising may appear at the injection points.

These reactions are usually temporary, but their intensity and duration vary depending on the area, the injection technique and your individual response.

It is generally limited but cannot be ruled out.

Small bumps, redness, bruising or swelling may remain temporarily visible after the injections, particularly in certain areas such as around the eyes.

Results develop gradually over the weeks.

Progress depends in particular on the initial condition of your skin, the area, the product used and the protocol followed.

The protocol depends on the product used, the area and your skin.

Several sessions spaced out over time may be recommended. Your doctor will decide on the number and frequency of sessions during the consultation.

The two categories do not necessarily have the same purpose.

Some hyaluronic acid products are used to restore or change volume, while others are specifically designed for hydration and skin quality.

Polynucleotides are mainly part of a biorevitalisation approach aimed at gradually improving skin quality.

Your doctor will determine the most appropriate option for your skin and the result you are looking for.

They are generally not used for the same purpose as a filler designed to create or restore volume.

However, temporary swelling may appear after the injection.

Yes, certain products can be used around the eyes when their specific characteristics and formulation allow it.

As this is a particularly delicate area, your doctor will determine whether polynucleotides are suitable for your concern.

The term “dark circles” covers several concerns: pigmentation, visible blood vessels, hollows, thin skin or changes in skin quality.

Polynucleotides may be helpful for certain concerns related to the quality of the skin around the eyes, but they do not necessarily address every cause of dark circles.

A consultation will identify the cause and the right approach.

It depends on the product used.

Some formulations used in aesthetic medicine are derived from marine-sourced raw materials and undergo specific purification processes.

Your doctor will tell you which product is used and will check your allergy history before the injection.

PN and PDRN are terms used to describe nucleotide preparations whose characteristics may differ, particularly in terms of molecular size, formulation and use.

It is therefore better to refer to the specific product and its characteristics rather than to consider all PN and PDRN as equivalent.

Polynucleotides are being studied for their interaction with cellular mechanisms involved in the quality of the extracellular matrix and fibroblast activity.

They are therefore used to biorevitalise and gradually improve skin quality.

How long results last varies depending on the product, your skin, your age, the area, the protocol followed and individual factors.

Maintenance sessions may be offered where appropriate.

Yes. Depending on your goals, polynucleotides can be part of a treatment plan that includes other technology-based treatments.

Combinations and intervals between sessions are set by your doctor to respect your skin's recovery and the relevance of each treatment.

As a precaution, we do not perform polynucleotide injections during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Polynucleotide injections are not suitable in every situation.

Certain allergies, autoimmune diseases, active infections or inflammation in the area, clotting disorders, medical history or medications may be a contraindication or require particular precautions.

The origin and composition of the product used must also be taken into account. As some formulations are derived from marine-sourced raw materials, your allergy history is checked during the consultation.

As a precaution, polynucleotide injections are not performed during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Your doctor checks your suitability before any injection.
