YOUR JOURNEY, YOUR RESULTS

Dullness, discomfort, blemishes: brighten, soothe and refresh.

From the first few sessions

A 20-minute session with no downtime leaves skin looking fresher and more rested.

Over the course of treatment

With regular sessions, benefits develop progressively:

  • a brighter, more even complexion
  • skin that feels more comfortable and looks visibly soothed
  • an improvement in the appearance of blemish-prone skin
  • a reduction in the appearance of certain redness

Enhancing your treatment

LED can also be used at the end of other Innerskin treatments to help soothe the skin.

Your Skin Expert develops your treatment plan during your skin assessment, selecting the light and session frequency suited to your skin. Individual results vary.

LED Photobiomodulation - What is it
WHAT IS LED PHOTOBIOMODULATION?

Photobiomodulation is a non-invasive technology that uses specific light wavelengths to modulate certain biological responses of cells.

Unlike technologies that rely on a significant thermal effect, photobiomodulation uses non-ionising, non-ablative light.

The photons emitted by the LEDs are absorbed by certain light-sensitive cellular components. This interaction can influence various biological mechanisms involved in particular in cellular activity, inflammatory responses and skin renewal.

The intended effects vary depending on the wavelength used.

RED LIGHT

It is mainly used to support skin quality, the mechanisms associated with skin renewal and the early signs of ageing.

BLUE LIGHT

It can be used in certain protocols designed for blemish-prone skin, in particular because of its interaction with certain bacteria involved in acne.

OTHER WAVELENGTHS

Depending on the equipment and protocol used, other wavelengths may be selected to meet specific skin goals. The wavelength, exposure time and programme are selected according to your skin and your goal.

A MULTI-TARGET ACTION

  • PHOTOBIOMODULATION – Uses light to modulate certain cellular responses
  • RADIANCE – Supports improved skin quality and luminosity
  • BLEMISHES – Can complement the aesthetic care of blemish-prone skin
  • SOOTHING – Supports sensitised skin and certain types of redness
  • RECOVERY – Can be added after certain treatments to support the skin
WHO IS IT FOR?

LED photobiomodulation can be particularly beneficial for people who wish to improve:

  • A dull complexion
  • Lack of radiance
  • Overall skin quality
  • Certain types of redness
  • Blemish-prone skin
  • Early signs of skin ageing
  • The comfort of sensitised skin
  • Recovery after certain aesthetic treatments

It can also be used on its own or as part of certain Innerskin programmes.

The choice of light and protocol depends on your skin and your goal. A prior skin assessment allows your Skin Expert to personalise the session.

FAQ

The session is very comfortable.

You may feel gentle warmth depending on the equipment and protocol used.

Photobiomodulation exposes the tissues to specific light wavelengths.

The photons are absorbed by certain light-sensitive cellular components and can modulate various biological responses.

The effects depend in particular on the wavelength, the light dose and the protocol used.

The exposure time depends on the protocol and your goal.

An LED session can usually be easily added to a dedicated appointment or follow another Innerskin treatment.

Each wavelength has different characteristics and does not interact with the tissues in the same way.

Red light is used in particular in protocols focused on skin quality and skin renewal, while blue light can be used in certain protocols designed for blemish-prone skin.

Your Skin Expert selects the protocol suited to your skin.

LED light can be part of an aesthetic approach for blemish-prone skin.

Certain wavelengths, particularly blue light, can interact with mechanisms involved in acne.

However, LED does not replace medical care where acne requires a diagnosis or dermatological follow-up.

Certain photobiomodulation protocols can help soothe the skin and visibly improve certain types of redness.

However, persistent redness or redness linked to a skin condition requires appropriate assessment.

Certain wavelengths used in photobiomodulation are being studied for their ability to influence the cellular mechanisms involved in collagen production and remodelling.

The effects are gradual and depend on the protocol and on having regular sessions.

The programme depends on the concern being addressed.

Photobiomodulation is often used as a course of repeated sessions to achieve a gradual effect. Your Skin Expert will determine the frequency and number of sessions suited to your skin.

Some people quickly notice fresher or more radiant-looking skin.

However, the biological effects sought with photobiomodulation generally require regularity and several sessions.

Photobiomodulation does not rely on targeting melanin and can be used on different skin types.

A skin assessment is still needed to check for any contraindications and select the right protocol.

LED devices can vary greatly in terms of wavelengths, power, dose delivered and exposure time.

Professional equipment makes it possible to use a defined protocol adapted to the intended goal. It is therefore not appropriate to consider all LED devices as equivalent.

Yes. Photobiomodulation can be included in many Innerskin programmes, in particular after certain treatments to support skin comfort and recovery.

Whether a combination is appropriate, and the protocol used, depend on the treatment carried out.

Depending on the treatment carried out and the condition of your skin, photobiomodulation can be used as a complement.

Your Skin Expert selects the light and protocol to respect your skin's sensitivity.

Depending on the Morpheus8 protocol carried out and how your skin reacts, photobiomodulation can be added to support the recovery phase.

This combination is decided on a case-by-case basis.

Photobiomodulation on its own generally involves no downtime.

When it follows another treatment, any downtime mainly depends on that treatment.

As a precaution, Innerskin does not perform this treatment during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Photobiomodulation is not suitable in every situation.

Certain medical conditions or situations, or particular sensitivity to light, must be disclosed before the session.

Specific precautions may also be needed in the presence of certain skin or eye conditions.

A prior skin assessment checks that photobiomodulation is suitable for you.
